Who Are We Helping?
Meet Hilma. She is 90+ years old & blind with a leg amputated after complications. She had to go into assisted living. After an incident where she called for assistance to go to the bathroom, no caregiver showed up for over 16 hours. She messed in the bed and was scolded for doing so. The SAFE-GO Bed would resolve this problem by allowing Hilma to eliminate when necessary, independent from diapers or the presence of a caregiver, and the soiled container would be cleaned and replaced at a later convenient time. Hilma would not be sitting in a soiled diaper or bed for over 16 hours until help came.
Meet Marty. He suffered a stroke and was paralyzed on one side and could no longer walk. His wife wanted to keep him at home to care for him but could not do so because of the toileting issues. She was not strong enough to roll or lift Marty. The SAFE-GO Bed would resolve this problem by allowing Marty to lie comfortably supported over the container and eliminate when necessary. The soiled container would drop down and slide out and his wife could easily carry the container for cleaning and replacement. The opening under Marty allows his wife to clean and sponge bathe Marty with the alternate bathing container, allowing Marty to stay at home cared for by his loved ones and not be forced into Assisted Living.
